Joe distances himself from Mattie in some ways, at some times, because he can no longer stand to see her in pain. Her depression=his pain. His pain turns into fear, and fear into anger and anger into silence/distancing.
Continue to research migrant workers and mental health. Write scene(s) with Mattie at migrants’ clinic.
Experiment with writing from Amy’s pov. She was born when life was stable. Dustin was born on the road.

I’m glad to see you’re back at work on Unplanted, Kim. I still remember the scene in one of the chapters I read with Mattie and the mirror.
